Double it and I'd let him go.

We don't need to get fleeced anymore. £10m would get us well away from FFP and give us a few million to spend on players now.

We want a sustainable model, this is it. Bellingham, Chong (with add ons) now seemingly JJ. Until we get into the Prem and have vastly increased revenues this will be our best chance of turning a profit to improve the squad again.

Not seen the whole thread, so sorry if it's already been covered, but how long does he have left on his contract, and is there a release clause in it that explains what seems a pretty low fee?

no, as has been said on this thread already it is not a lump sum.
Is this sale now necessary to pay off Rooney and co?

Mayor do you know?

...FFS, how many times has this been answered already 😤😤

2026, no release clause. They are lowballing us, I think we'll get 7-8m euros minimum, which would be fair. That's basically 10-15m pounds FFP wiggle room if they want to spend it

Thanks mate. I'd start talking at 7.5 and a good sell on tbh

Sounds like it may be more to give the funds to facilitate Cooper joining

I think so too. People expecting 10-20m are in dreamworld.

I sincerely doubt we’re going to get Steve Cooper

Is that based on gut feel, or something you've heard?

Yeah I think £7-8m is realistically what we’d likely get top end.
Granted he’s a young and has been playing well, and he’s also and international, so was David Cotterill nobody paid £10m for him either.

Answer questions before you ask them and expect others to do what you won’t.

Fairs. Seems the most ambitious target so would be unreal.

Interesting, Dan.

I was surprised earlier today to see the Keep Right On podcast had done a “Steve Cooper Special” episode and wondered if Brian Dick had heard something that we hadn’t in order to put out such specific content.

I also am in the boat that Steve Cooper won’t be our next manager, but I do feel they have a responsibility to temper expectations amongst fans so that when the next manager inevitably isn't Steve Cooper there isn’t mass hysteria (again)?
