Did any of those clubs have the option to buy him? We were helped to get him this summer due to Wolves being desperate for money and Sanderson wanting to stay locally.
And Mowbray wasn't the manager at the time Sanderson was at Sunderland but I'm sure he will assess who is best choice to be captain and appoint accordingly.
