Derby

GMZA
17:31, Saturday 13 January 2018
Easily the second best side to visit St. Andrews this season.

They didn't play the prettiest football but as a complete team they were excellent.

- Organised
- Crisp and precise on the ball
- Niggly, dirty and downright vile off it
- Tactically they all knew what they had to do at all times.
- Took their chances well.

We were the better side until they scored and then they took advantage of our frailties to be comfortable for the rest of the tie, from that point on they were never really in danger of losing the game.

The second half was largely a procession for them, don't let our bad luck with hitting the post fool you.

It's a shame their support was so poor really, good numbers but pretty quiet compared to others and certainly not as good as we are at their place. Oh well, singing doesn't get you points.

If they don't do their usual choke they will be in the top two at the end of the season.

The main difference in personnel? Two good ball playing midfielders. Apparently everyone at the club except Greedy Rat Dein, Fatima Vetere and Young Roy Cropper can see we need one.

A final thought? Weimann is a fecking prick. He's not even any good.
We deserve our club back

They are probably going up automatically, very strong especially upfront. Shame it was 3 but we had a go and there are positives.
All about next week now.
Thanks for keeping us up, Harry.

Oh there supporters are terrible I agree.

There's just something about East Midlands fans isn't there?

Forest are delusional about their own importance.

Leicester are absolutely tin pretend ultras.

Derby manage to combine healthy servings of both to be the worst of the three.

Burton are alright.

Don't disagree, as a team they were impressive. We miss someone in the middle to complain about every decision the ref makes. They were more decisive than us and that's what gets you higher up the league

Trying to avoid that really, Doug. We've all been emphatically proven right so it doesn't need going over again.

As a side I was impressed by how cynical they were as well, no prisoners.

The bonus is it keeps villa out of the top two, not that they were ever going to actually make it anyway.

Easy club to dislike. Some comfort in knowing most of their squad would be nowhere near good enough to survive in the Premier League.

Spot on this mate. The only thing I will add is they was also a very lucky team.
A very Rowett team with all the usual characteristics, including the luck . Fair play to them though, the reality is setting up this way and gettin the luck is what gets you out this division.

Yeah, they didn't impress me, and neither did Wolves.

I think though it's fair to say that everyone from about seventh in the Premier down is much of a muchness though and it's quantum randomness rather than skill sorting out the table.
