I agree.

He has actually some sort of Christian minister now or something, I follow him on Twitter.

A far cry from his days of armed robbery before he came to us.

Once he did that lap of honour before he played for us he was going to have to go some to impress me.

One barmy night at Anfield aside he never got anywhere near.

Worth it if only for the chant from Reading fans one cold and dismal night at the old Elm Park when Otto came on as a sub:
(to the tune of Go West) ‘Ott-o is a mur-der-er...’ Slight exaggeration, but excellent comic timing

He followed that up with the winner away at Cardiff a few days later - all Blues behind the goal - no roof - constant rain for the whole game. I don't think that I have ever been that soaked since......... :)

Interesting that he is now being looked back on fondly - if there had been an equivalent of this forum back in the Otto era he was about 1000 times more unpopular than N'Doye is now.

I think the only time I've lost my rag with any of our players was with him against Brighton in a 3-3 draw at St Andrews. We'd gone a couple of goals up (Dominguez had scored one at least) and then Gary Cooper had been sent off - two yellows. Brighton had then gone 3-2 up, we were down to 10 men and Otto was poncing about, lazy as feck, and not even pretending to be interested in helping his team mates. We eventually equalised through a Mark Ward penalty (saved, then scored the rebound) but it was a disgusting performance from Otto and one of those instances where we really would have been as well off with 9 men.
Please don't eat yellow snow. It means that there's less for me.

Scored one of the best goals ever at st Andrews. Went round a couple of players by the corner flag and smashed it in virtually on the angle. Think it was against Norwich first game of the season. Tried to find it on youtube with no luck.

Paul Tait dived to win that penalty and he was as surprised as the rest of us when it was given.

The referee - Uriah Rennie :D

Yes, of course - Rennie, I do remember him reffing that match. I think it was one of his early games. A typically 'flamboyant' display, if I remember rightly, although the Cooper sending off was fair enough. One was for a needless handball around the halfway line, I think. Even Rennie couldn't have missed that one, as he virtually caught it.

We beat Ipswich 3-1, August 1995. It was a great finish by Otto.

Yeah the Ipswich goal was a great finish.

I didn't think he was THAT bad tbh, yeah he was lazy, but so many wingers are. I do think the £800,000 price tag weighed heavy on him, very similar to Jota now.

46 games 6 goals, I did think he had scored more than that actually.
