My eldest Daniel is attempting to achieve this today, raising money for Birmingham Children's Hospital.

22 miles in 3hrs 37mins so far.

Not so sure he can keep up that pace.
As they say it's a marathon not a sprint.

(tu)Incredible
Fantastic effort (tu)

Does he have a just giving page you can link. I'll send him £25

Although 25p a mile doesn't sound much in hindsight 8-):D
Lads every penny counts as we all know having had our little ones attended to in Town.

Here's his just giving page. The amount is rising steadily today and he is checking his mobile at intervals, he needs every bit of encouragement on this one.

As usual the boy is running in his Blues top.

The lads mental. 44 miles is his previous, longest run.

Genuinely concerned about him on this run as the fecker doesnt know when to give in.

It's cost him £200 to do it including the transport back to the starting point + his fuel money to Southampton and back.
It's a commendable cause I have to say.

He only went and completed it. 100 Miles from Winchester to Eastbourne, done and dusted in a day.
An incredible achievement for a more than worthy cause. Congratulations Daniel.
Very proud of you xxxxxxxxx

Fair play to the lad. You've created one mad fecker there, with a big heart. A bloody kind heart too.
Insane distance is that.
I have donated. Hope his figure raised rockets up. Every little helps

Cheers Dave and Mr Head but.

He will be really chuffed when he sees the money that has rolled in over the last 2 days.

You're all very kind.

Just spoke to Daniel. He said to say thank you to everybody who has wished him well and also those who have donated.

He was placed 28-30!for most of the run and at mile 80 he missed a turn in the dark.

This took him down a steep 1.5 mile hill, only to get to the junction to find no sign, Feck, feck, feck.

He was so demoralised, the hill was the steepest of the whole 100 miles. He said he felt like crying at that point and he had enough.
He walked the hill and the only saving grace to come from his mistake was He met 6 runners on their way down the hill and told them to turn round.

He's such a good lad. Never ran for a bus until 5-6 yrs ago and neve been to a gym. Just decided to go running for something to do :-)

Edit: thank you to the moderator who without asking made the post a sticky. KRO.
We are glad it's over, the poor lad has got to drive back from Winchester now!

Excellent - very well done Dan. What an achievement. (tu)(*)

Oh and the wrong turn on the hill mistake put an hour on his time.
He was flying at the time and was passing runners.
He thought he would have made an early 20's position if it were not for that mistake :-(

:( Such a shame - but he still did extremely well and should be very pleased anyway (especially considering how much that hill would have taken out of him!).

103 miles!!!

Including voluntary/optional extra hill training.

And all in a Blues shirt plus the added threat of a time cut-off .

I hope I'm reading about this in the Mail next week, and I hope Dan gets some recognition from the club.

Fantastic effort!
F*ck me Dave you must be so proud- how do I donate- do I search his name?...sorry to ask a daft question but we never had a computer in our school and where I come from they still havent arrived
