Statements made yesterday by Birmingham City and the EFL confirmed that neither the club nor the EFL will be appealing against the nine-point deduction laid down by the Disciplinary Commission in March. The EFL have also confirmed how Blues P&S calculation will be looked at for this year.

Cheers Dan, hope you're right about the club scouting the lower leagues. Also interesting to note other teams want the cap raising, if we can still exploit some of these loopholes then we should be vehemently against this.

"It’s my understanding that Blues are scouting the lower leagues looking for young players who can step up in a similar way to the way Che Adams did after signing for League One."

This is the best way to go about it IMO. The two players I really wanted Blues to sign were Ollie Watkins (Now at Brentford) and Brad Potts (Now at Preston) and both have done extremely well after stepping up. Duane Holmes looks an absolute bargain for Derby too.

We already have the spine of players who are "experienced and know the league", time to start adding some guile in the form of young players who are talented and eager to take their chance.

Plus they tend to yield a much bigger chance of profit if we have room to develop them and potentially sell after.

Absolutely this.

Hoping Vassell steps up more next season, too. If he bangs 15+ goals next year he goes from a £1-2m player to a £10m+ player. It's the way to go, if you get it right.

Vassell will benefit massively from a full pre season with Beattie. Here's hoping anyway.

Agree with this.

Just a shame they didn't take this approach from the start when they took over a couple of years ago. Would have been better use of the money wasted and we might have started seeing some benefit now rather than starting from scratch in a much worse financial position and playing catch up on everybody else.

This means that there is more than just the EFL paying attention to the accounts and potentially, more than just the EFL who are concerned by the consistent continual losses made by the club and the holding company...

The money from Grandma's Vase sale is drying up.
Wim fecked aint we, Tom.

Must admit, with both the club and parent company losing money hand over fist, it can't go on indefinitely. It's a worry. Chances are we won't get some random Yank and Egyptian billionaires to bail us out.

Just got out my fag packet andf writing in the two 13 mill losses EFL have allowed for last two years, then deducted 15 Mill that we can HOPEFULLY get for Che (Im gutted to lose him) that added to the 15 mill we have lost so far this season means we are touch and go on failing next season again unless we shed wages & players and cant see any money or high wage signings at all.
Think its Div1 & 2 signings for us and hoping against hope a couple of kidz come through.

Think that's how it has to be DES from now on, we just can't keep haemorrhaging money like we are. Hope we get 20 mill for Che as Sheffield Utd will be getting a cut as well.

This. If we can somehow use loopholes that others aready have then this may enable us to catch up. Stuff the other clubs pushing for a rise they want their cake and eat it.

A nice windfall in the percentage sale once Butland goes will also come in handy

Worth noting we banked on that last summer and it never came.
