Just caught up on Monday's Springwatch and learnt this fascinating fact.

The starling's testicles grow as the mating season approaches and shrink back to normal size afterwards. Nothing mind blowing about that really.

What is extraordinary is the scale of the change.

If the same scale of expansion happened in men, at peak swelling, our testicles would be the size of a basketball.

For want of a better finish, I'm just putting it out there for comment.

The best bit was when Michaela Strachan said she was struggling to get her head round it. Quality.

Packham - brilliant idea - no more shooting crows, magpies etc. Just let them kill all the song birds.

In much the same way during the close season the amount of bollocks some posters post on here grows exponentially and then shrinks back to virtually nothing when the season starts...

Anyone else read the thread title as Sterling's Testicles.

Was very worried about the contents and most hoping for no pics!

Watched it with my 7 year old, he was fascinated! Yesterday he was telling my mom about the size of birds' "testaments"...

I got this mental image that refuses to go away.

Man swaggering into a room arms outstretched, basketball sized testicles prominently displayed, walking up to a group of girls saying

"I'm ready for you girls, come and get me"

and the girls chirping and twittering in admiration.

Back to work now.

great thread.

i am going to sports direct later to purchase 2 basketballs and will use some super strength gaffer tape to attach them to my under carriage on saturday night before going out.

i am expecting swarms of female attention and will report back my findings.
