Diwan almost opposite the old Moseley Dance Centre is my fave. Food tastes exactly like it did on first visit 30 odd years ago.

No grease fresh spices and stunning nans.

There were quite a variety of nans in the Gary Owen too
Who painted Rosie's knickers blue and white ?

I see what you did there 😂 that place and The Areo were from another time. The women in the taxi queue were genuine brawlers.

Like an English rain. So light yet endless from a leaden sky. Neil Peart RIP.

And when the music stops
There's only the sound of the rain.

You don't have to miss Saleem's food. Saleem's has been resurrected as Abdul's at 1191 Stratford Rd. (opposi te KFC) Rafiq (chef at saleem's) runs it and the menu is exactly the same as Saleems. Google it and go!

Glad you enjoyed it bud. We go there regularly but, for me, Shababs remains the best - intoxicating. Used to love Royal Naweed in Moseley too. I also recommend Dan Toombs, The Curry Guy (start with the red book). A lot of work to do the base sauce and garlic/ginger paste (allow 3 hours in prep and cooking) but then, when you've done that, the curries are quick and are just amazing. You can freeze the rest of the base sauce and then cook a stunning balti in 20 minutes or so.
