Advanced talks with Derby’s administrators in the last 48 hours - his bid would be the largest so far.

If successful, Ashley will attempt to purchase Pride Park stadium from former owner Mel Morris.

Sports Direct are based at Shirebrook, Mansfield approximately 25 miles from Derby.

As for Ashley I think the Derby fans will find life different to their days under Morris as will the players with their contracts.
