Back it then Lay it on an exchange, £4.50 per profit per £10 staked.
Is that supposed to be really generous? I know we'll be favourites but Iran are bound to be pretty good?
I can’t work this out because the backing of England is not a free bet, therefore if England lose
I have lost £10 but won £10 on the laying of England on betfair.
This means I have ended up at £0.00 profit.
If England win I have won £10 backing it but lost for example £5 laying it on betfair.
This means I have ended up at £5.00 profit.
Am I working this out incorrectly or have I missed something?
Please indulge me as sometimes I just cannot work things out.

You can get just over 2/1 on Iran to win or draw on PP so I’d assume the same with most sites…. Put a fiver on get 15 back…. Minus your 10 for England not winning
Edit.. Yeah that’s still 15 quid outlay … Can’t lose your tenner but your not going to be able retire early sadly

£10 on England to win @2.00 returns £20
Lay £14.39 on England at current lay odds of @1.39, your liability (if England win) will be £5.61
If England win, you make £10 profit at Will Hill, and lose £5.61 at the exchange, this = £4.39 profit
If England don't win, you lose £10 at Will Hill, but win £14.39 at the exchange, this = £4.39 profit

As Le Mod has shown, it's literally free money and worth about £4 per £10 stake
Based on the "true" odds, England have about a 70% chance of winning and they're offering evens (presumably with a stake limit though)
The odds are sufficiently generous to have a punt without the lay in my opinion, notwithstanding a bird in the hand etc.
Max stake £10.

Agreed, but then I stopped laying boosts a long time ago 😁
Yeah, each to their own, I enjoy the no risk element, extracting money by exploiting the offer.
Thank you, I understand that perfectly.
How did you work out the sum to be laid?

This definitely the way to go with these bets; I mean it's always a maximum of £10, so the most that you can win is £10 anyway.
There have been a few times when I've just impulsively backed what's looks like a £10 gift, only to find that when I've checked the bet, it hasn't come off.

It's part of some software that I pay for. But I think there are some free calculators online

Lay Stake = (win odds x win stakes) divided by (lay odds)
ie (2.00 x 10) / 1.39 = £14.39
Note the 1.39 is for Engand NOT to win (ie covers Iran winning AND the draw)
