Same starting line up except for Henderson for Mount and Rashford for Sterling. Let Jude get up and down.. Grealish and Foden on after an hour when they run out of steam and get Kane off.

I realise it won't be a popular opinion on here but Bellingham was the worst of a bad bunch on Friday night.

He put Rice under immense pressure by trying to be overly progressive and abandoning his central position far too often. He showed his lack of maturity there somewhat. It allowed USA to gain control of the midfield and it's why he had to be replaced by Henderson eventually.

He'll learn though, not least because he seems to be always learning.

Would nit surprise me to see Henderson start over Jude. Remember we just need to lose by 3 goals or less

Should Kane be dropped for the Wales game ?

Kane's club manager claims he is exhausted
Kane has been struggling with injury and was again injured in England's first WC game
Kane's form for England has been poor

Surely Wilson would play a better centre-forward role than Kane's current interpretation of what a centr-forward is ?

Absolutel,we have better central midfield players than Harry Kane

Alli in the 10 was basically a second striker who ran past Kane, Mount isn't that player. I agree him and Kane get under each other's feet at times.

Against Iran Mount was covering the left side which allowed Shaw to push up which worked well. But at times he offers so little with the ball. Think if Kane does play against Wales Maddison should play on the right with Kane actually able to offer a goal threat with a creator like Maddison on the pitch.

However would prefer to see him rested anyway, freshen him up for the knockout games. No point bringing Wilson if he's only gonna come on for 10 minutes at the end of games despite Kane being knackered (cheers Conte you dickhead)

The USA were successful on Friday because they know that England do not like the high press. Southgate's tactics are one dimensional. He likes possession and structure with the use of pace and directness limited to little spells in the final third and a reliance on set plays.

They knew that if they prevented us from breaking forward it would frustrate us and they did they so well with their attackers and midfielders being on their England man constantly. Conversely as with saw against Hungary in the nations league we seem almost arrogant in backing off the opposition outside the box.

From years of England being labelling long ball it now seems a dirty word to suggest that to counteract the press we should be playing into space quickly and directly.

I fear that Southgate will revert to an even more cautious approach tomorrow with Henderson in for Bellingham, maybe even Philips in for Rice. Saka will be swapped with Rashford. Against the Welsh, I do think any combo will be enough not to lose the game and he will take the same team into the 2nd round of we will be battered.

Massive step backwards to drop Jude unless he is injured or genuinely needs a rest before the knockout stage. Play 4-3-3 rather than 4-2-3-1 and free him up to play the box to box role not just stick him in front of the defence. Rice, Henderson and Jude should be the three in midfield.

I like it 😁

Kane is dropping deep either because he's not receiving the ball or because he's being told to by Southgate.
Conte whinges about Kane being exhausted but starts hi in EVERY game and doesn't often sub him.
Southgate left him on after his injury against Iran.

I would start Phillips if able to play any minutes purely to give Jude a rest.
I'd like to see Maddison, Foden and Trent start but can't see that happening.

Mail reporting that Henderson will come in for Bellingham.

Not surprising really.

We really should have enough in other areas of the pitch to beat Wales.
There's too much opinion and not enough fact.
