RagsThere's a problem with the your analysis.
How do you know how that 30% of the squad identify as black?
More patriotically motivated white players in the squad would simply replace the patriotic black lads. So the patriotism factor would be nullified.
Well i could probably start googling interviews with each player and posting examples of things the player said which shows that those players clearly identify as being black .. but I have better things to do.
Surely you aren't, at this point, going to follow Ian's previous claim that Mark Chapman is black or identifies as black ?
I hope you're not on the slippery slope again old bean?
You were fairly beaten earlier on, there's no shame in that.
Are you one of those types who asks people if they are the type that notes down the ethnicity of advert actors and newsreaders ?
Clearly (see above) you are.
What a very weird thing to ask someone
RagsSo are you saying that the black players are more patriotic because they're starting from a position of being less English than their white mates?
No, not at all ...
I'm saying that because 3.5% of the UK population identify as black, but the squad is 30.7% black then it shows a lack of patriotism on the part of white players generally who obviously haven't striven as hard, or been as patriotic, to bother to get into the squad
Maybe some of the 'white' players identify as black and that is why they have been successful in reaching the squad ?
They would defiantly win more games if they stopped taking the knee. It's clearly holding them back.
RagsTo be more specific ... should the WHITE players be more patriotic ?
Only 3.5% of the population of the UK identify as being black ... yet 8 out of 26 of the England Squad ... 30.7% ... are black.
The black players have already shown they are more patriotic by choosing to be part of the squad - so why aren't the white players as patriotic ?
I thought it was Southgate that chose them to be part of the squad?
Freelander blueStop taking the knee would help.
The gesture came from the states, yet their players didn't even do it the other night, but ours did.
How might England players do this beyond playing for England? Quite a difficult line to walk these days...

The England players apparently do it because as a group they want to do it rather than it being an instruction from the FA, UEFA, FIFA or whoever.
A pity some supporters seem to be troubled by their decision.

It makes me absolutely fuming, that professional sportsmen dare to have a political view and use their freedom of expression. They should just have some pashun and get on with it. Freedom of expression is for people like me
If we had a better anthem more of them might sing it, rule Brittannia, Land of Hope & Glory, your're going home like Sandy Richardson

Funny how the criticism starts when the team don’t play so well. Takes me back to those Euro’s times when various Mp’s like Lee Anderson (the numptiestnumpty in the cesspool) vowed ‘not to watch’ England (now there’s a cause for which it is truly worth sacrificing your viewing hours to..) only for senior Tories like Sunak to get photographed in their England soccer ball uniforms as we started to do pretty well.
Expect more of the same if we crash and burn this time.
