Nikola Zigic'yYeah that'll stop at about 30 stations and take 1hr 40?
So you get to the station 20 minutes before, 2 hours later you're at Euston, then it's 20 minutes to get to St. Pancras, you're there say 30 minutes early.
2 and a half hours and you're at Gare de Nord.
So £100 for a return flight from BHX that takes 50 minutes or a 4 hour journey with a change of station for twice the cost on the train.
It's a Craig Gardner.
Going to Paris in May with the family from Birmingham. Wouldn't dream of flying there.I have just looked at flights though and for our family of 4, the cheapest direct flights BHX to Charles De Galle return is just over 1k. That's without bags. We paid £550 on the Eurostar for the same dates and that includes one leg in First Class. With New Street to Euston tickets it still works out way cheaper than flying

If it'd been cheaper, would you have flown?
What about the same price? Just curious, not being a dick

No mate. Without sounding all Greta and "modern parent" we try and avoid flying where possible. We'll be going to Romania by train in the summer too. It will take a lot longer but we do it for the experience and the kids will get to see a bit of Paris, a bit of Stuttgart and have a day in Budapest too. They enjoy taking the night trains. The cost would be about the same as flying
I went all the way to Fethiye in Turkey on the train and coaches. Fantastic experience and it’s great seeing places and meeting people you’d never have had you have flown.
Enjoy 👍
That's a whole other thing too, your journey is part of the holiday there and it sounds ace, I'm sure your kids will love it. In a few years to e when I get out the mob we are going to do a cross-European trip with the kids
A big reason I like being able to get up and down quickly is less days out of my own bed and more time with the family

That's really odd, I've just seen return flights starting from £58 for May. Most expensive return I could see was £98.
I find Paris one of the cheapest airports to fly into from BHX.

We go May 27th-May 31st. There's an Air France that would cost £800 in total but gets you to Paris at 9pm
