Who you with Mick Jones or Joe Strummer?
Im a Mick Jones man all the way, proper working class kid, great look and typified the Clash for me...
Indifferent. For me, the Clash as an entity was greater than the sum of its parts.
And Paul Simonon had a better look than Mick Jones
Same for me - much better as a group.
Bit like the Jam - great band but indifferent solo careers…

The group changed though when Topper and then Jones were sacked.

Strummer all the way.
There’s a subway (or was) Edgeware Road with a load of memorabilia of Joe Strummer !
I’m going to google now to see if it’s still there
Both heroes of mine.
Loved The Clash and their post Clash work too. Joe with The Mescaleros and Mick not just with B.A.D but Carbon Silicon too (with Tony James from Generation X)
This is pure genius
This was gold too.... Mick and Paul together.... Oh yeah and Bobby Womack too.
Remember watching this episode of Later and drooling. How it was 13 years ago I have no idea.
Seen them a few times in the day. Joe with his snarl for me.
Bernie Rhodes was the master manipulater and had Strummer around his little finger
Loved em both...
First two clash albums superb..
BTW London Calling tribute band are brilliant, best tribute band I've ever seen by a mile
For me the greatest band ever. An incredible repertoire of music and each member able to make their mark whether it be Headon on I fought the Law, Jones on Stay Free, Simonon on Guns Of Brixton, Strummer on White man In Hammersmith Palais. Their back catalogue is shamefully ignored by lazy radio stations who think playing London Calling and Should I stay as the staple examples. Can't really separate Jones / Strummer as the bigger influence

Well said, Topper was a big miss when he was sacked but the drug habbit got the better of him. Amazing band
