Thank you , Much appreciated fella Cheers!

I was about to comment this too,
Iâm an avid MTB DH an enduro and there is massive difference between e-bike/e-mtb and e-Moto x. The later being the one that causes most the problems
But yes a normal e-mtb can be fiddled with to not cut out at the 15mph max but this are only ASSISTED power
Them e-MX bikes are no different to an off road motorbike and you wouldnât compare them to a mtb
Can anyone recommend a specific one to go for?? Been after an E Bike for a while just don't have a scooby when it comes to things like this )
Entirely depends on budget, preference, intended use...how long is a piece of string?
If it's just commuting, groomed canal towpath or country park flat stuff then the one linked would be fine, any proper MTB use though and you'd need to double that spend and have longer travel suspension.
I'd definitely buy new as well, wouldn't go anywhere near a second hand ebike.

Bluesince62It's important to make the distinction between e-mtb and e-moto x bikes as well.
From the small piece of footage I've seen, it looks to me like the lads were riding a Sur-ron.
These things cost about the same as a legit e-mtb (which I've got).
Difference is massive in power and mph capable of, whilst mine is limited to 15 mph, only kicks out 85nm of assistance at 200 watts peak and is legal on trails or the highways, these other things are only meant to be rode on private land, are 6,000 watts and can do 50 mph plus..
Sur-ron riders are a problem locally on the trails I ride as well.
I think they just need banning and if the parents thought one of those was a legitimate birthday present for a kid, well...
I keep seeing e-bike on the news, I'd be surprised if it was though. Might seem pedantic but there is a huge difference between the two.
You can derestrict an e-mtb but even then, you aren't getting much above 25/30 mph and it quickly destroys the motor and battery.
I just pedal âŚ. on or off road .
Try it đđ
Tried that for 20 odd years - can't see the future in that at all đ Now I still pedal, but enjoy it more.
I have blasted around a quarry on a petrol powered bike, i've done it on an e-mx. I've done speedway (although exilerating, its still terrifying -no real steering, no brakes!).
Whats the horrible consesus whith bigger better bikes? They are not all ridden by morons, in fact that oneof the best things about biking in general.
A horrible truth about biking is "morons die early".
True, the problems arise when these bikes are ridden in places where they shouldn't be.
IE Sur Ron's on shared trails, with horses, kids and animals all sharing them.
As ever, the sensible riders are always going to be let down by the moronic few.

Respect for doing speedway. I wouldnât have the bottle to ride at that speed on a bike with no brakes!
I agree with your final quote. Darwinism exemplified. But for cyclists or e-cyclists who donât disable speed limiters and who ride cautiously, Iâd love to see more cycle lanes on roads.
I'm in Paris at the moment. It is incredible the transformation from when I was here last. Cycle lanes everywhere and people of all generations and ethnicity using them.
We are years behind.
The anti-cycling mob don't help.
Getting worse as well, I honestly don't know how you lads ride on the road.
From my house to the forest only involved a 3/4 of a mile ride on a road to get up there, the rest is either canal or trail.
I've had that many idiots almost clip my right hand with a wing mirror in that short stretch over the last 2 years I've started going a longer way that gets me on the canal without going on a road.
I've witnessed more road raging against cyclists over the last 2 years as well as a driver.
Whether it was the lockdowns or whatever, people seem to have a lot less patience and sympathy for others now.
A lot of it is to do with the right-wing media. "Cycling 10 abreast/lycra louts/don't pay road tax/jumping red lights" etc etc

Totally agree! Too many hyped up stories in the effin DM, about crazed bikers doing this and doing that.
The Daily Mail is vile, but as a cyclist and the person who made the original comment, I think itâs nevertheless true that there is a growing issue of people riding fast electric bikes pretty recklessly, and they tend to be youngsters/couriers.
As far as âbigger bikesâ go I see the attraction of people for speed, but bikers are probably the worst offenders for breaking the speed limit on the same, and theyâre people old enough to know better. They really go for the quiet roads around Northumberland and give it the gun.
