Frustrating at times but enjoyable for a 0-0

If Stansfield started up top today I’m convinced we’d have scored

Class save from Ruddy, good to see Buchanan back and Drameh is improving game by game

Think Burke could be half decent with a bit of confidence behind him, could give him a go up top if Stansfield wants to play behind the striker?

Think the 7 days off now will do us wonders and we’ll come out firing against Norwich

The same If we played with or without the ball. If we haven’t got the quality it is what it is. Which is the point. This season is about consolidation. We aren’t going up. We hopefully aren’t going down.

People thinking if we play another way we will get more points? Juke up front and just launch it for 90 minutes?

Is it fitness? Half the bastards looked knackered in the first half, little wonder they seemed to lack energy as the game progressed.

Still, after two defeats a point is OK, reduces the risk of confidence being eroded and John 'DvB' Useless going ultra defensive.

Someone said the other day it’s all rather reminiscent of a season under Monk, where we we played well for weeks without getting our just desserts then BOOM. Well bookish anyway.

I don’t think we look half as dangerous as we did under Mink that season.

Put Che Adams in this team.

Just got back, overall a real Meh of a game. I think we missed Sunjic tonight ( I never thought I would say that)
Far too many back heel and fancy flicks when we needed to keep it simple, and for the second game running will someone have a shot

Agree with the back heels, there were about 3 of them in the space of 15 minutes and its always a sign that you're running out of ideas. Im all for players taking risks if it can break the line, but they all happened when we were crowded out and the best thing to do was to just go back and build again. I think we were really patient in the first half, but second half we just seemed to get frustrated/desperate.

Was at the game was too tired to post when I got back last night.

I think there is petrol there that needs a spark. We created lots of chances final pass always seemed to be the wrong one. Genuinely think it will come. Yes there were a few shit passes and yeah great save by ruddy but we were the better team. If we can just start scoring some goals…

Don’t care about yo-yo Norwich game now - prem squad expected to go straight back up. QPR and those ‘sorts’ not must win by any means just want to win a comfortable 3-0 or something with none of this backs to the wall defending a 1-0 for 60 minutes.

Dog shit abuse to the ref at half time as he went down tunnel. I swear if he hears it he’s gonna give a big eff u to get his own back there were a couple of dirty fouls by QPR that went unnoticed by the officials whereas similar ones by blues were picked up on. Make of that what you will.

Exactly.

If it’s Adams in the team then we at least make play offs.

This season is going to be mid-table but next season once the dross has gone and we sign a clinical striker, we’ll be on our way up

Most teams in the Championship would kill for an Adams tbf.

Yet people are suggesting that we are attempting to be a possession based team and it isnt us/or working? Which we arent trying to be at all. The stats arent backing that belief up. We are no different than we were last year, albeit with better players in certain areas.

We are what some want, a team that plays better without the ball and hits on the counter. We just dont have the quality yet to be consistent at it. Nothing to do with style of play. We arent trying to be a better footballing team.

Think we’re keeping the ball and passing it much better and faster at the moment. Was it you advocating we ought to be going down the Wimbledon/Cambridge route the other night?
09:38, Sat 23 Sep
Definitely needed to move the ball quicker last night I thought

Still more zip in our play than we’ve had. Progressively lost it second half

No not me. I think your right, we are trying to work the ball better from the back but that I would imagine is because we have no presence up front so pointless going long time after time. But it aint tiki taka thats for sure. We arent over doing it. QPR had a fair amount of the ball last night and we dropped deep. When we had the ball at the back they pressed us well, like many do. Very few give us respect to drop deep and let us play.

Fair enough. More or less agree with that. Miyoshi actually didn’t play that well last night and lost possession too often.
