The first time I saw Burke play for us, I just couldn’t understand why he wasn’t played as a number 9. Under Eustace as the lone striker he would have been perfect. He has blistering pace, is strong and is decent in the air. He always seems awkward playing wide- when he picks the ball up deep and has time to think about what he’s going to do he often looked a little lost and makes the wrong decisions. However, playing on the shoulder, defenders are scared of his pace and he offers us an ‘out’ ball if we have to go long. Until we can sign a better number 9, I think he offers more there than Juke or Hogan.
