Very very late to the party on this Netflix series clearly.
But fantastic viewing, a phenomenal documentation of the history of the Medellin cartel and Pablo, I’d heard stories of Escobar but to see it all play out in this series was something else.
Fascinating and entertaining viewing, not many things made these days are any good but this was absolutely superb.
The guy is like a mythological figure.
One of the best series I’ve ever seen.

Finished it a few months back….brilliant series
One of them that you stick an episode on after tea, and easily end up watching 3 !!!
Loved it
Fantastic series. The other series in the universe about Cali and later in Mexico are also fantastic. A show that achieves that rarity of both syle and substance.
If you enjoyed the show, I highly recommend the book Killing Pablo by Mark Bowden. It’s a very intriguing account of his life and latterly the efforts of the Search Bloc and DEA to take him out. There’s also a fantastic documentary called The 2 Escobars, about Pablo Escobar and his links to the murder of Anders Escobar (no relation) in wake of USA ‘94. Part of ESPN’s 30 for 30 collection if I recall correctly.
Spent six months living in Colombia and visited 2 of his estates, as well as exploring Medellin. Truly fascinating history. He really splits opinion in Colombia. Most are ashamed of the wars and fighting and so want to move on from being constantly associated with events that happened many years ago.
Absolutely loved Colombia though and it was also amazing to see his hippos.

Thanks, not sure why there is a line through earlier message
If you haven't seen it 'The Two Escobars' is an excellent football/mafia documentary.

Colombia is probably my favourite place in the world. Depending on the work situation I'm probably going to go and spend another month or so there in January.
They're, rightly, getting rid of the hippos.
