Can anyone enlighten me to the history of Deritend Fish & Chips? The long closed chippy between The Old Crown & Rainbow in Digbeth.
Looks to be a time capsule. What's the story behind it?
There’s a Facebook page old picture of brum has good info on this type of stuff
Dunno, but always get nostalgic with it's old Pepsi logo signage.
Probably a cannabis farm behind those news papered windows!
Used to drop in there for a bag of chips, on the way to the Brewer and Baker for a couple of pints before heading to stand on the old Kop. All sadly gone.
DanUsed to sell fish and chips I'd have thought.
Whereabouts?

Best chips in town. They also did battered beefburgers, never to be equalled.
Ahh the Deritend chippy...... many a time called in en route to the ground in the 70's and 80's after a few beers in town.
Never seemed to change over the years
