I’m having a birthday weekend with the Mrs in Brum 10th December, staying near Brindley Place
Haven’t really spent much time in the City since I left home in the 80s
Any suggestions on places to go & decent eateries that might not be jam packed with Xmas parties?
Cocktails and a bite to eat at Dishoom by the town hall
Went to Dishoom on Thursday. Was excellent. Have been underwhelmed vs the London restaurants before.
Cocktail at the Grand Hotel is nice.
Beer at the Colmore. Albert Schloss for. Cabaret/live music
Dinner at Orelle, Sabai Sabai, Fumo, The Ivy all excellent lately.
Everywhere decent will be busy that weekend.

No idea if they'll be booked up, but try Wilderness in the Jewellery Quarter. Fabulous food and banging tunes. No idea why they don't have a Michelin star.
Cheers
