Remember seeing them at Barbarellas around the time Denis was in the charts. Huge queues upside to get in.

I first heard of them in 1977 as a spotty 15 year old - by the time they released the brilliant '(I'm always)Touched by your presence dear' I never thought I'd ever love another woman again π. My first and tbh, only proper crush on an older woman. I was gutted when she didn't reply to my proposal of marriage.
They were on at Sheffield University when I was a student. I had planned to go but tickets sold out in half an hour the day after their first appearance on Top of the Pops.
I watched most of it last night. I really enjoyed it. I was 17, I think, when Blondie came to prominence. My word, Debbie Harry was just drop dead gorgeous to my 17 year old self, and actually to my 63 year old self. Obviously she had the looks, but such attitude, which I sort of picked up on more last night than I did when I was 17! Blondie turned out to be an excellent band, with superbly crafted pop songs.
