Kicked out of the FA Cup for fielding an ineligible player in their 1st round replay.

Apparently the offending player was Sam Cosgrove...

BBC have mentioned Aiden Marsh who was on loan at York for the first match, but played in the replay

Yeah, the Barnsley Forum where I read it was Cosgrove got it wrong.

Dont agree with reinstating horsham. Its not like they would have won anyway. Sutton United should be given a bye straight into round 3

The FA Cup is about more than the result for teams of that level.

They thought it was Cosgrove because he played for us in the cup, which turned out to be wrong, i saw them saying the same

You might not agree with it but them's the rules and Horsham would, rightly, be miffed if they did otherwise:

FA Cup Rule 34:

"Where a Club is removed from the Competition, the Club’s opponent in the round immediately
preceding the Club’s removal from the Competition will be reinstated to the Competition (unless
the Professional Game Board determines otherwise, at its absolute discretion)."

And what a result for Hosham, financially that’s a years worth of player wages at that level secured through poor admin at Barnsley.

Looks like Barnsley really don’t take the cup seriously.
15:56, Wed 22 Nov
Could be worse, they could forget to enter.

Consistently correct and proven right.

Horsham or Sutton in the third round will ne prime banana skin territory for Blues.

Let's not invent stories!

"They did not take part in the 1921–22 FA Cup. Secretary-manager Frank Richards failed to submit their entry form in time to be granted exemption from qualifying, and the Football Association refused to bend the rules in their favour. Although that decision did not preclude their entering the competition in the qualifying rounds, the directors chose not to do so."

That debacle was so Blues though!
Blue since 67 - Will be there at the end of the road, whenever that may be!

Horsham being reinstated is absolutely the right decision.

Barnsley fecking it doesn’t mean Sutton shouldn’t have to earn the 3rd round.

Why did Liverpool get a fine rather than chucking them out the cup?

Different competition wasn’t it

Tbf Barnsley would prefer to be booted out than find 200k, think they are skint
