Listening to WR’s press conference today, are we now going to see the prioritising of gaining points and abandon the style the owners changed manager for? It’s already been absent in the last few games. I wonder how much influence is being exerted now to change the stated priorities? Or maybe just an acceptance it hasn’t worked out.
Aiming for a clean sheet suggests exactly that
Quite frustrating if that is the case, we may have forgotten how to restrict teams to 2 or 3 chances per game and look fluid and threatening on the break.
Sounds like a pragmatic decision has been taken to try and reduce the risk of defeat, rather than increase the risk of victory. Stabilise the ship a bit. Makes perfect sense. If that’s the case, obvs. May be misreading it.
When exactly did we look like that before? Please don't say under Eustace because that would be a lie.
It does. Wonder if that means a change in formation to something more pragmatic.
He’s dug himself a huge hole. Certainly can’t be accused of having just a plan A. But can be accused of not having a plan or a style of play

He’s at the point of if you throw enough shit at the wall something will stick.
His message has clearly not been heard by the players on how he wants to play or setup etc so it’s the old revert back to basics scenario and tbh we know where that usually leads.
Smacks of ‘I could be in abit of trouble here’

I’m sure there were posts like this circa January 2017.

Whatever he does he can’t win now. He’ll either get criticised for sticking to something which hasn’t yet worked, or criticised for changing his “philosophy”.
Return to 4231 low block then with bielik and sunjic cdm. I agree about those worried about Rooney changing style, that is worrying, though if it’s to get results that we need then it has to be done imo. We can’t keep losing horribly in the name of trying to play this new style which isn’t working or the players can’t or won’t play . Of course we could get nothing reverting to the pragmatism style as well.

He can win some games, that will probably help.
