I'm easy either way. I'd like James to stay at the club for years because he's brilliant but at the same time, he's got to be worth a decent amount now. If someone wants to pay us stupid money, it'll make striker shopping much easier.

Not sure how long Rooney will have to build the team around JJ, think he'll stay for the rest of the season, but if he keeps his up I can't see us being able to hold on to him this summer. Shame because he's turning into an extremely good player.
For all the negative commentary on Rooney (me included) - JJ's development is definitely a positive benefit of Rooney's tenure. Making him a regular starter has seen him blossom, whereas under Eustace he only ever seemed to be a squad player. He's also benefitted from Jobe's departure, and though I rate Jobe I'd rather have JJ in the team.
Fair points but depends how he looks on it. Blues could well be on the way to something big, would he want to walk away from that?
The time may be coming where we don't have to just let go anyone decent, or at least be able to demand a fee that might put others off.
