and with continues rumours of the club seeking a new GK and reports of the club wanting to shift Ethridge out of the club in the next transfer window, there's a reason why he isn't playing. If that continuous pay rise per game wasn't in the contract, Rooney would have put him in the game some time ago.

If the reports of Etheridge getting a pay rise if he plays are true, I expect us to stick with Ruddy until January then get a new GK in, likely on loan after paying Leeds 85 quid for Drameh to free up a loan slot.
If we're that short of cash that we refuse to play etheridge, the we aren't spending much, if at all, in January.
If,as it seems,we ain't ever gonna play Ethers for financial reasons it all seems a bit pointless him being in the match day squad
Our owners might have loads of cash but due to FFP it just doesn’t work like that and if there is any spare for January we have bigger priorities than goalkeepers. Massive difference when Stansfield came off today. That’s where the priority is.
What would Etheridge do? Have we forgotten how he was chucking them in left and right? How he has Camp levels of box commandment?
By all means Ruddy should be criticised but people acting like Etheridge isn’t worse than him are kidding themselves.
