1979 was the best ever festive 50.
The Clash, the jam,buzzcocks,undertones,Skids,specials,etc etc...

The thing with the earlier Festive 50s is that they weren't all about THAT year's music, they could include past years as well. Which makes them a bit distorted.
Some absolute bangers in there.
Lots of it really has stood the test of time.
I was a mad Smiths / New Order fan at the time & it's great to see so many of their tracks making it into the 50.
Even if Morrissey's descent into being a complete bell end has tainted them for me a bit.
