What effing shite.

OK so Wayne was not successful with us but do we have to crucify any manager that does not succeed with us any let's be honest that applies to nearly every manager we have ever had.

Not sure it’s shite.

The article is drawing parallels to the lack of success in management of the ‘Golden Generation’ - Lampard, Gerrard, Gary Neville and Rooney - and asking whether there is something more fundamental at play. Interestingly it highlights the same excuses proffered by Rooney - Poor players, lack of patience etc - were given by Lampard when at Everton and Chelsea.

These excuses, and the fact that it is everyone else’s fault and not theirs when things go wrong, is especially strong in these players turned managers.

Is this lack of self analysis or considered introspection, a result of these players believing their own hype ?

I think they may also suffer a bit from frustration that players cant do what they did and Players who they played with did. TF seem to have a bit of this too.
I believe that managers should start and prove themselves in the lower divisions and then progress upwards but Football Club owners think otherwise.
