The Prem CE Richard Masters almost begrudgingly acknowledges that a date has been set for the hearing re Man City's financial affairs.
However he insists that he can't divulge the date .... why not ?
Any legal reason ?

BTW he seems a proper arrogant dick.
Jude should be front and centre of everything England do in the attacking third of the pitch.
Give him the armband now too ! ( AUG 2023 )

Legal reason would be that it's an arbitration and therefore not a public hearing, and probably part of the contract for arbitration - which would be the Premier League agreement itself, rather than specific to this one - is that the details are kept private.

Arrogant and a DVB what’s not to like.

So much money in the top level of the game it’s rotten.

CEOs of the top clubs get about 3 million a year. Doubt any of them could run Birmingham council or a medium size factory.

They reckon Scudamore got 10 million for his last year as Premier boss.

Not sure it's at Arbitration stage mate.

Breaches (if not admitted) are first put before a Commission who make their decision and may impose sanctions including embargos, fines and points deductions etc.

If a party does not accept the Commission decision they can appeal and an Appeal board is appointed to "re-hear" the case and confirm or change or dismiss the Commission decisions and sanctions.

If either party still disagrees at this stage it becomes a "dispute" under the PL Agreement and this dispute would then be the subject of an Arbitration under the arbitration acts. Only at this stage does the process become "legally" private and confidential.

Must admit, I'm fairly ignorant of how this stuff all works but a journo on The Athletic said there's no reason the PL could not divulge more information and reckons it's an issue of personality type rather than protocol - the suits don't want to be in the spotlight. He said, rightly, that their opaqueness only leads to dissent and mistrust from the fans.

If the PL want credibility as an organisation of sporting integrity then they need to be more open.

If you are ignorant to how it works then how can you be sure that their opaqueness leads to dissent and mistrust from the fans?

Seems to me that it's only reading this guy's article that's led you to feel like that. So it's this guy causing dissent and mistrust from the fans.

You've become a Daily Mail type.

Not sure what good comes from announcing the date tbh
