Apparently it's been lashing down again local to Sheffield.
How's their pitch ?
Hoping there's not a postponement ?
Jude should be front and centre of everything England do in the attacking third of the pitch.
Give him the armband now too ! ( AUG 2023 )

According to the forecast,it's gonna piss down all afternoon as well.

I don't think a second tier game of football has been postponed because it's raining since the 1970's has it?

I'm sure it'll be fine.

Consistently correct and proven right.

Well bugger me. I do remember that one now you mention it.

Still. I'm sure it'll be fine if a bit soggy.

Hearing #SWFC hired some “super soaker” equipment to ensure game on at Hillsborough tonight. The pitch is in a much poorer state than it should be. That said, it has been deluged by several inches of melting snow followed by persistent rain. So good effort.

Read it on a Sheff Wed forum

Thanks mate.
I guess the fact it's on Sky helps to encourage them too.🤞

Their pitch is one that struggles with water though

Yeah, there was one night game there a few years back when the pitch was effectively all sand with lines painted on it. It was awful, how somebody didn't get injured, eff knows.

Rotherham v Ipswich was due to be on Sky when it got called off earlier this season, although I think that was more to do with the surrounding area as it's right next to a river

Edit: just realised Hillsborough is right next to the same river lol

The Don flows past Hillsborough.
It flooded a few years ago - 2007 apparently, but not since then.

Rotherham is worse because the stadium is at the confluence of the Rother and the Don. There's a nice little park behind the away end. But if either of the rivers is very high there's a risk of flooding the area around the stadium/

I think tonight's game should be ok.
The pitch is likely to be fine. Modern pitches are fantastic for draining.

With luck Bannan might struggle to keep his head above water, if he can see over the grass that is.

Probably a daft question but any chance you can pay on the door tonight at the away end?
