Interesting as a comparison for the plans Knighthead have, this is the newly announced plans Chicago Bears have for their new stadium in central Chicago. The new stadium will be next to their current one, by the lake.
$5bn in total for the stadium and infrastructure.

It has a pretty cool video showing what the new stadium and surrounds will look like - hopefully we will soon see something similar for the Wheels site!

Does anyone know if the wheels site has been cleared on knot weed yet ? I'm sure I read that the site was cleared from it a few years ago. Don't know if this was correct or not.
And does anyone have any idea when the clearing of the site will commence ?

There's a good article on The Athletic on new stadia
[ebsford.co.uk] knotweed was cleared a while ago.
Judging by the recent drone footage of the site I would say the clean up hasen’t started yet despite a completion date of march 2024
The Chicago Bears stadium looks top dollar.
Fantastic for a brilliant city.
They love their teams in Chicago
I was at a Cubs game once. What a ground and atmosphere!
Thanks alot for posting.

Quite impressive. The amount of money the state of Illinois is prepared to put in is staggering. The setting rather beats back of Adderley Park 😁.
It’s a bit odd to see in the middle of the hype the stadium being as presented as a soup kitchen to support ‘the community’. Not that it’s a bad thing, just something of a contrast with the scale of wealth amd investment supporting the project.
I used to follow American football a bit more closely - haven’t the Bears been a bit rubbish for years now?
I would imagine it’s going to be some time before there are any signs of activity on the site, certainly wasn’t yesterday going past on the train. Exciting times ahead though
Can you link please?
It is approaching 6.30pm on a Saturday, a full 90 minutes after the final whistle has blown. At most grounds, the seats and concourses will have been cleaned and swept and long been empty. Only a few stewards would remain to lock up.
Upstairs at the Goal Line Bar at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, however, hundreds of fans are still drinking, socialising and, crucially, still spending. It is a social scene, a commercial scene; it is the difference between the silence of an empty football ground and the noise of a thriving stadium-based business. It is an example of the fabled “dwell time”.

DaveMurrayYes, was done using some the £19m levelling up fund. Phase 2 of remediation will go ahead using the rest of the funding. Blues will have to pay for continued JKW spraying to keep it at bay as part of the deal too.Does anyone know if the wheels site has been cleared on knot weed yet ? I went to the Spurs women vs Leicester FA Cup game the day after the Cov home game. The concourses are on another level in terms of the offer - there was a pizza place, fish and chips, bagels, burger bar, chicken, etc. One thing I would say is that compared to the cov game the day before, getting served was no quicker than at Blues, took effing ages which was bad when you consider there was only 18k there. And they ran out of burgers before you got to the front.
For Blues women in particular this could be a game changer as women's football seems to be catered towards families and having modern facilities is much better for kids than what we offer at St. Andrew's atm. There are places to sit on the concourse and eat your food, what a novelty.
Sorry if this has been done, but someone posted a picture of the land we have purchased highlighted in green, do they plan to buy up the other units and land around the part we currently own?
American stadiums are absolutely class and all about the fan experience. Exciting times ahead
