The only time I went to Shrewsbury for a league game was in 1990.
We were on a 12 game unbeaten run from the start of the season. Though we'd drawn 8 in a row.
Late in as roadworks on the A5. It was already 2-0.
Got beaten 4-1 in the end. Trevor Aylott's debut. He turned out to be a dreadful signing.
Gay Meadow was a very distinctive gtound. Lots of trees and by the river. The New Meadow is an identikit small ground. You could be almost anywhere.

Other difficult places for us have been Burton, Wycombe and Mansfield.

I live in Shrewsbury nowadays.

Cracking town and had a record at one point having the most pubs in a square mile (or something along those lines!).

Annoyingly since moving the stadium out towards the retail park there’s a long walk from town with a limited amount of pubs (which usually don’t allow away fans). I’d imagine there will be a police escort taking you from pub to pub (which will usually end up at Spoons).

I’ve received absolute dogs abuse from friends since yesterday but a lot have mentioned how they’re looking forward to “Birmingham coming to town.”

As much as I do have a soft spot for Shrewsbury I hope we smash the shite out of them to shut them up! Any blues fan want to meet for a beer prior I’ll be happy to show the sights 👍
