I think Wagner looked at Blues and thought changing the manager would be like changing the hot-water plumbing in the bogs - just another thing you spend money on and it gets better automatically. What we need is a proper, careful recruitment strategy. In a way, it's easier as we start with a blank slate.
I agree there were some decisions made that didn't take into consideration what had gone on previously. Knighhead / Cook attempted to put a better engine in a banger, when we just needed to nurse the banger until the end of the season so it could finish the race.
