We should have been better, yes, not promotion good though!

But overall, I'm sick of watching us be shit. I've been promised a lot, for once I'd like to have it! šŸ˜‰

I will be absolutely gutted if we hire Neil.
Me too - boring as hell

I won't believe it until Moxley tweets it

I understand the attraction of Neil from the owners perspective, Iā€™m positive they didnā€™t anticipate relegation and itā€™s going to cost them. They will want to go for someone with a track record of promotion and will not want to take any chances. I think the football would be dull though but League One football is a horrible tough league

I think we all agree on that one!

In my predicted future dream (that will change in ten minutes time so grab it while you can) we appoint Neil, we play decent football to get us out of League 1, we give him a try in the Championship if it isn't brilliant we go and ask Uncle Tony ... "oi ... you ready to come back yet ?"

Mainly positive, particularly about him getting us promoted

I've seen nothing to suggest Neil's football is decent.

Consistently correct and proven right.

I'm not gonna lie, i don't really know enough about him to have any real opinion. I think most managers i can think of have failed at stoke.

Seems to be a play off specialist, should the worst happen.

Probably wouldn't be my first appointment, but seems quite a safe one. Maybe if it goes wrong and one of the other managers we like the look of in league one is doing well we just nick them halfway through the year? (skubala, challinor, lindsay)

Feels alot like a safe and steady bet and to be honest I can understand the owners wanting safe and steady after getting there fingers very much burnt by Our Wayne.

I'd be fine with him, but was hoping for something a bit sexier.

It's only the first name on the list, there'll be plenty.

Surely we can do better than this.

I hope we can

Is Alex Neil the sum of our owners ambitions. Very deflating and uninspiring, but I suppose if boring and dull gets us out of the league 1 then so be it. Iā€™m already losing optimism and excitement for next season now regardless.

Where are the positives in that thread? Other than ā€œgood appointment for themā€ they are all calling him a tosspot and would hate to have him back.

The positives are the 99% of comments saying "he'd be a good appointment" and "he'll get them promoted." They don't like him because he quit and joined Stoke after 24 games.
