My Blue HeavenAgreed.
The “boxing” 😔
Algerian fella beat an Italian women earlier. Two punches to her face, One of which broke her nose, and she gave up.
Seems a tad unfair.
I Just can't see on what planet this would ever be right ?

I'm quite a tolerant bloke. But in situations like this I find the whole trans thing mental.

She’s not trans. She was born a woman, she’s probably intersex which is a different thing altogether.

I'm bowing out then as I clearly don't understand it properly.
The rules adapted by the Olympics are based on what’s in someone’s passport, irrespective of I they’ve failed a gender test. Seems ridiculous to me
I’m completely live and let live with how people want to live their lives but when it comes to competition and particularly physical sports there has to be fairness

It is a thorny subject - look at Caster Semenya the runner who also was not trans but had to deal with a pile of shit saying she was.
I do believe that like doping, there has to be limits on testosterone allowed in women’s systems, especially in sports like boxing - and that if one cannot meet those limits, whether trans, intersex or otherwise then one cannot compete. It might be viewed as unfair by some but life isn’t fair and there have to be rules sometimes.
Neither her or Lin (yu sing ?) have noted to be intersex or trans I believe but both carry really really high testosterone levels, both were dq’d at the world championships upon failing a test based on gender/hormones
I know it’s not their fault in these cases, they can’t help what they are but safety is paramount for all
I know it’s amusing as they sport is about punching people but it’s different being hit by an equal, than being punched by someone who is simply physically at an advantage
I can’t understand why the Olympics do not have a set and fair policy in place, the Iba were responsible for the worlds, not workout judging controversy but there’s got to be a similar less suspect panel out there.

This is it really. I'm as airy-fairly lefty as they come but people's safety is more important that somebody who was born intersex's (not trans) right to compete.
Solution here is an 'open category' and one for females only. This also enables women to compete against men in sports they're better at.
Yeah, have to admit I first commented on this before fully knowing the facts, and it's certainly not a clear cut case of a man now deciding she's a woman and punching feck out of everyone in her weight class as its being made out to be by some.
As you say seems to stem from them failing gender eligibility tests during the world champs even though they had pretty much fought throughout the whole tournament and the algerian was only DQ'd an hour or so before the final.
