fradgeSheev PalpatineHaving read Twitter this morning the meltdown from some of our fans over last night has been unreal. When we lose a league game it’s going to be unusable
It's always unusable.
Have to agree. I use the 'SHA filter' on it.
Deleted my account, but if someone off here links to something on there, I can see it. Avoids me wading through the cess pit to see anything interesting, as I rely on the good souls on here to do that for the more delicate types, such as meself 👍
MiguelagennPositive - there's always next year.
There's always this year. Two to go through.
I think the loss/draw is a bizarrely a positive. I know I was criticised last night but I stand by what I said. Teams will see Blues as a team that they let have the ball now as much as we want. Tactically they press us on occasion to draw a mistake or two but principally they will defend in numbers in their own half. Restrict our key chances and expect that we will leave ourselves open to a counter attack or maximise a set piece.
That tactic has worked but we have been strong enough to still win through but all our results have been fine margins.
At least last night shows what a mixture of resolute defending and for once a slight lack of fluidity can do. It will hopefully make us re-adjust just a little or just motivate us more.
I thought we played pretty badly and it went the way both of our other home games could have gone.
We've not been convincing at home yet in any of the four games. Nice football at times but look toothless.
Better away from home.
I'm also really unconvinced by all of the wingers, especially Wright. We've downgraded out wide, upgraded everywhere else.
Ron Saundersbluer than bluesRon SaundersNo it’s not what I am saying!!!
I am saying possession football in front of the opposition who have dropped back into shape is not gonna cut it.
Take risks play thru the lines.
Wingers when 1 on 1 run their full back.
I don’t care what anyone says we definitely haven’t clicked yet, perhaps due to the influx of players.
Remember Leicester and Southampton last season? Both played this system superbly and
Tore us apart at times, movement and pace and worked teams to then quickly play thru them.
As yet I don’t think we have torn teams apart especially at home, yes we may have worn them down but it’s a big ask to score all our goals after 80 minutes
Two teams who kept the majority of their squads from previous season together. It's September, we're 3rd. Have a coffee and chill.
That’s actually not true they had a big turn over of players at both clubs.
The point I am making is less about those teams it’s about the way they played the system. It has to be dynamic, it has to be risk taking. I think as yet we are struggling to get that balance.
The manager identifies it in his post match interview.
I’m sure we will get it right particularly when the season settles down but as an observation it’s far from perfect at the moment.
Southampton started the season well but then had a poor run. There was lots of pressure on Martin to change style. I think they were rather lucky overall to get promoted though ended the season well.
It’s pretty obvious we need to move the ball quicker and be more accurate in the attacking third. Let’s see if the manager can get us doing this consistently, some of our play is a bit Southgate just now.

Thought he was our most dangerous player first half. Think we need to give it all a bit more time yet.
Yeah, thought Wright and the Celtic lad were the two best players for us.
Yeah but we were absolutely rubbish first half, so not saying much.
Still got to remember Wright has been in the door less than a week. Thought he looked bright against Wigan his goal aside, and beat his man a few times in the first half last night too. I'm eager to see more of him. But as I've said before Stansfield should be starting in that position

Also needs to be considered that Wright was putting in direct crosses last night and we had no one of any size capable of getting on the end of them. Put Dykes in the box and Wright becomes far more effective.
Thought Paik looked a class above when he came on. Right now I think he's our most talented player. He's so cool and calm on the ball. Really surprised we've managed to hold onto him.

This. Most of these players have only been here a couple of months. Far, far too early to be ultra-critical.

17 new players! most on multi year contracts and will be here next year. We won't be at full speed until Dec/Jan. This was the great squad 'reset' we'd been waiting on for a few years. I doubt we'll see 17 new faces in a window for the next couple of years at least.
Keeping the points rolling in whilst this group learn how to play to each others strengths is amazing - there will be blips, we will lose (maybe against Wrexham next game), but I'm certain we'll pick up more points in the second half of the season. Patience is needed....
