Yep. You don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s not there
Oh, is Laird not the weak link any more then?
Seems like only...before Saturday, that he was the weak link.
(Not you, but plenty of people on SHA).
To be fair it was probably exacerbated last night by Sampsted not being available either. We will get a chance to see what he can do for a few games now.
Khela on the other hand, I never want to see at left-back again. Not his fault - he is not a left-back in a million years. I don't mind seeing him get a chance in midfield if that's his best position, let's see what he can do. But as a left-back, I've seen enough.
Missed a generally natural right back, we would have been a little more solid and able to push wider and overlap with Sampstead just as much.
Agree, but don't see him better than our other midfield/wide options, so cannot see him getting in there either.
Maybe a January loan for him. Just not good enough for me at this stage for our squad, considering the levels of other people already sent out.

I thought the criticism was ridiculous. The main problem with him is not ability but injuries.

Spot on.
Also saw a stat where Laird has the 2nd highest completed dribbles in the league behind dvb Barry. Yet he's made the scapegoat by a number of people... He's frustrating at times I get that but he gives us our outlet, that's plain to see.
I'm hoping now he's injured for the foreseeable future (shock) we play Cochrane to his strengths more, and that'll get more out of Hansson too and still give us a full-back attacking very high up the pitch.
SpikeWas obvious at Charlton irs not his position. The goal masked it a lot. Davies won’t or shouldn’t play him there againOh, is Laird not the weak link any more then?

Khela should have gone out on loan. On the topic of left backs, who is our Under 21 left back?

Can they still do that in Jan? would be good for him. There is a decent midfielder in there, never in a million years a full back though.
I don't think we've actually got one have we?

Olofinjana and Pergelov - I don't get the impression either are close to ready for the 1st team though?
Possibly not but without sounding harsh on Khela, wouldn't they do a better job at left back than Khela?

Possibly but I'd hope the coaching staff have a good idea of where they are at and presumably judged not.

Not just injuries - his decision making in the final third is also questionable. He does all the hard work but can’t deliver the final ball when needed.
