It's definitely not right to say I'm pleased that Harris is out injured, but it does solve a selection question a bit.
I am far happier to have a player on our books starting than a loan player, but it would also have been a bit hard to have dropped Harris based on how he has played.

Laird is much harder to replace, which is ironic after some of the comments post-Reading.

We've got so many options open to us now, that as bad as it is, Laird being out isn't a total disaster. This squad can play in so many different ways, just on CD to find the best one that gets our best players firing. Not easy, but a great problem to have.

Yeah it's not a disaster, just quipping that those who incessantly slag him off may realise that he was offering us a lot

Yeah, get that. Those who do that are a bit daft tbf. He's been excellent for us so far.

We will really miss Laird IMO. He's crucial to us getting up the pitch. Hopefully the timing of their injuries might lessen the impact. 2 of the weeks they will be out for are international weeks, and there will be another BSM trophy game in that time. Hopefully they will miss less league games than we are expecting.
Yeah I did notice that. We only have 3 games in the whole of September and from the date of their injuries it’s 6 weeks to the Cambridge game at home on 12th October and only 5 league games.

Sampstead looks quality. I have no worries with him taking over at RB. Just need him to stay fit now.

It shows cover in all positions was vital.

We all knew that Laird would have absences he is unlucky and fragile unfortunately in equal measure.

It was so very clear last night how much Laird actually brings to the team. I get so annoyed when people have a pop at him - which happens a lot. Maybe those short sighted people will now appreciate him more.

He’s a huge asset, his final ball can be a bit hit and miss but he gets us playing much further up the pitch and creates one of the most important thing for the team, space for others to play in
I think we will see the best out of Stansfield if he plays on the”right” as with the width/position Laird will take up he can effectively play centrally with may with the ball

That’s what I’d do and I’d think what Davies will do.

Rest unchanged although the keepers done himself no favours with a couple of clangers.
