I guess it's had to make a case for mild when most of its consumers are dead or struggling to swallow.

You’re a bit out of touch. Milds quite big on the craft scene. Check out some of the Stirchley bars.

The last vestige of Jennings beers, Cumberland, is now gone after the majority of the brand was more or less wiped out once Carlsburg bought out Marstons.

It is such a pity and devastating for the UK industry!

Never more Snecklifter, Cumberland, Crag Hopper etc!

Yes Jennings is the biggest loss. Just about every ale they did was a good un.

Out of those listed, 61 Deep was the only one I have drank regularly. Used to have it on tap at my local and the pub would get through a couple of barrels a week, then the brewery stopped delivering it and swapped it for another IPA. No wonder the sales are down when they don’t bloody sell it.

Yes, a great brewery. I toured it when staying in Cockermouth about 6 years ago.

They talked about how devastating it was when floods hit the town a while before. Barrels of beer were literally swept away down river. Because production was hit, they couldn't supply local Lake District pubs demand, and said they would soon have soon lost custom forever to other beers, so production was switched to sister brewery Banks's to ensure continued supply.

It must be devastating to survive that, only to then be threatened at a later date by faceless, uncaring and greedy corporate owners

Instead with CAMRA all we’ve got is “europiss” and a shit load of rubbish warm beer nobody clearly wants to drink.

CAMRA have done just as much harm to the UK beer industry as the massive lager producers have.

I’m afraid that’s total cobblers.

Rude, slightly. Arrogant, not at all. Talking from experience, yes.

Sorry mate, I think it's cobblers as well - without CAMRA standing up for the smaller brewers we would just have tooth freezer euro piss. Never been in CAMRA and no interest to be either, but saying they've ruined the beer trade is daft, when you've got big corporates buying up breweries just to shut them down and kill competition which leads to less choice. Everyone on here who says 'those beers are shit' or 'plenty of choice' obviously don't see the bigger picture. If you are happy drinking madri, doombar or other bland shit, then fair dos, I suppose.
