Just looking at a game 5 years ago.

I know he is 5 years older so would obviously be slower. BUT the main problem for me he just looks to be to top heavy. Not fat obviously, just too big. Needs to lay off the weights.

Love the bigger but he did look like a boxer playing in Socceraid.

Time for him to score the winner at Wembley in a couple month? Couldn't agree more

He did. Resembling Tommy Fury in last years event.

If he just cut it down a bit would still be effective for me. Sad to see

I thought he did ok considering he hasn’t played for a couple of months. We obviously need better but he can still do a job for part of a game In this league.theres a few clubs there who he’d be a fairly regular starter for.

Have no doubt about that. Put in a shift for sure. To be more effective though I’d like him to trim down a bit

He hasn't been able to keep up with play for years. He's not effective and is highly detrimental to the team.

People need to give up on this shit.

He wouldn't start regularly for anyone at this level, he hasn't got the energy or pace to play what would be needed.

For a striker, he could never really shoot. A couple of worldies once in a while. He couldn’t ever move his body enough to get power or placement

This. He’s basically not in the squad most weeks.
It’s obvious why.
Let him play vets football and wish him well

I have to agree this should definitely be his last season in pro football. Last night I can’t remember him winning a header.

That’s his strength and he’s offering zero contribution in that department therefore it’s time to call it a day.

I work with his sister and he wanted to leave in the summer to drop down and find a club where he could have one last season to get some matches before hanging up his boots.

Not because he doesn’t love the club, he genuinely does and he loves us as well, saying he and his family have never felt as much at home as he does with Blues.

It was the club that convinced to stay for one more season, they wanted his presence around the dressing room and for him to be in and around the squad. I can’t remember if there was talk Of a coaching role, but I do know he really enjoyed the limited time he’s been on Blues TV, which surprised him.

Is he past his best? Of course, but from the last decade of mediocrity he’s one of the only players to have come out of it all at the other end, still with us and still with a bit of credit in the bank.

Keep Right On

Yeah I was more than happy for him to be given this year, not for his on-field contributions it's obvious they would be limited this season, but as you say, for his off-field attitude and presence. it's more valuable than people think.

Sentimentality shouldn't come into it but it is nice that his last season here is going to be one of success after nearly a decade of shite.
