There were many who said Arsenal fans were arrogant for not stopping to watch us get awarded the trophy in 2011. I always found it a bit weird and precious that our fans would say this.
Now that the vast majority of ours didn't stay to clap our own players that they were seeing for the first time since they won the league championship, something we have only ever done a handful of times, let alone Peterborough lifting the trophy, we can probably put that issue with arrogant Arsenal fans to bed.
Yep, had some cretin shout ‘what are you clapping them for’ at me for daring to applaud the players that have given me one of the best seasons of my life.
effing tosspots.
I get that everyone has their reasons and I understand why people didn't stay but the holier than thou 'why didn't they stay for us receiving the trophy?' aimed at Arsenal fans was ridiculous.
You'd have to be a bit weird to stay and watch the opposition lift a trophy.
Clap your own off and get out of there
The fact is a lot of people are entitied simpletons. When their needs are satisfied everything is brilliant, marvellous etc but when they aren’t (much more common occurrence I think) the things and people that let them down are ‘shit’. Such people are perfection personified of course.

I said exactly the same yesterday - I left after the final whistle as well, tbf. If we'd have lost against Arsenal, we'd have collectively stayed behind to support and applaud the Blues side (as we did against Liverpool at Cardiff) - we were the underdogs and they were used to bigger things and fully expected to win. Role reversal yesterday, and we showed that we're just football fans like most others, as if most of us didn't know that anyway.
I have honestly never heard another blues fan say arsenal fans are arrogant for not watching us lift the cup ?
And would never understand why the opposition would want to stay and watch another team lift the cup.
Personally I left about 3 minutes before the end of the match and went and got lovely curry along wembley high Street and had pretty much forgot about the game within 10 minutes ,but absoloutely understand why fans would want to stay and show their appreciation to the players efforts throughout the season.
It was said plenty at the time - mostly about them not acknowledging their own team though.
Tbf most of us had pretty long journeys back. Arsenal fans could almost walk it.
I did stop to clap the team when they came over but I really couldn't give a toss about watching Peterborough lift the cup. It's not arrogance, it had been a long, fairly heavy weekend and I just wanted to get home. It may have been different if I was stopping in London on Sunday night too.
I didn't see too many of their lot stop to watch us celebrate our promotion on Tuesday. Initially a few did, but they soon drifted away.
I have often used that story of the Arsenal fans bogging off, but mainly cus most of them had gone before the final whistle, and unlike us they actually did look like scoring again.
Anyway after yesterday when loads of our fans were leaving before 90mins, even though there was 11 mins of extra time, I’m going to have to temper the retelling of the story in future.
Stayed applauded the team, even in terms of the cup it was a great effort to just get to the final, the league we can celebrate in the remaining games.
Couldn’t stay for the presentation, I wanted to it’s the right thing to do to applaud the victor, but I just couldn’t.

I was so disappointed at the abject performance that I stayed for a bit until the got their runners up medals but then didn't clap really.
I felt the deserved recognition for the season but I'll save it for Friday. I know the trophy doesn't matter but the manner of the performance really disappointed me and clouded my rational thinking.
Couldn't believe that some people were leaving at 90 mins. It's a cup final - imagine we'd got both goals back, and you missed it. Like all the people who missed Jude's overhead kick at the Euros.
I left at full time, in hindsight I wish I'd stayed to clap the team off but I was genuinely gutted to lose, and the last thing I wanted was to watch their players and fans celebrating
