Dowell initially was a must sign, but the last 6 weeks or so I’ve not been impressed but that’s no one constantly blows hot. Hopefully a rest does him good and if he comes back we see more of him in good form.
Poku is a must sign for me tactically, I think an inverted right winger who is actually a threat (ie now just playing Thor there as an inverted player) would be perfect for the way we play.
Finally I’d be happy if Davies came back and who would bet against him forcing his way into the team bar Klarer he was our best player this season.

It would be madness not to sign Dowell. It’s an irrelevant debate though as he will sign.

I agree, but as long as it's in our favour financially.
I think we need a bigger squad of players that Davies trusts next year. We didn't rotate enough at times this year and looked leggy, which will cost us more in the championship than it did in League One.
I wouldn't mind Dowell as a squad player. He's done it at this level, and Davies clearly trusts him. But I think we'll aim for better as a starter.

do we take into account that having gone from not much competitive football to playing 2 times a week for months that Dowell might have been struggling with fatigue ?
i think lots of people underestimate the physical and mental strain on players that a season like we've just had does to players .
its easy to say , ohh we should piss the league , the money spent , blah blah blah but nobody has done what they did last season so it aint easy
Davies makes total sense to sign permanently. Not sure about Dowell. he excelled at league one. not sure he's got the speed for the championship. if we can get better I'd hope we do. thank goodness we are not trying to sign Che. been there done that. we need younger and better again to come in. Poku? will he fit into what Davies wants? will he defend, will he be inconsistent? I can't imagine Davies taking a risk with a flair player.
