Not an issue but more of a request. Is there a way of disabling quoting of posts when the number of lines being quoted crosses a certain threshold, pls? Some threads are a bit unreadable as people quote each other repeatedly. Cheers.

On a similar but different note, when a certain thread starts to affect the display on tablets (iPad in my case, no idea if it affect other devices), can it be closed and an addendum thread started please? No idea when it happens, but I think it’s somewhere around 400 posts.

Needless to say it only happens when the more needy posters get involved.

No names, no pack drill 😀

I agree with the OP and being against pointless quoting

Full quoting is very annoying.

It's rarely needed to get your point across.

This will descend into a farce quickly but I happen to agree. The usability of this site is excellent but endless quotes seeing the same thing over and over dozens of times is silly IMO.

Why dont they edit the quote and only keep the relevant part?

Shouldn’t have to

Thanks Tandy. Despite you and Chris being similar ages, you’re more mature and thoughtful. I worry about the crowd he hangs out with.
Quoting's a bit of a pain since the layout changed a few years back. You do need to quote sometimes though because of those pesky people who edit after you're replied to them.

Full quoting is hard to follow because it's not easy to distinguish who's saying what, I tend to switch off from the thread.
