it seems there are a few people who constantly create new accounts (presumably after being banned) and their first stop is the politics board. Can we create a setting so that accounts need to have posted 10 times or they need to be 2 weeks old (or both) before they can access the politics board? peole dont know it exists until they join so it shouldnt be a hardship to not have access to something you didnt know existed for a couple of weeks.
Would that not just shift those creating accounts to just make them "en masse" so they can create some for the future.
You'd hope that'd be spotted because they have the same IP address.

It's not hard to change your IP

Then do what Reddit do and shadowban anyone who signs up using a VPN.

It's possible to change your IP without using a VPN. Some ISPs don't offer you a fixed IP, I know this cos I had to pay mine for one at one point as I had a backup server for the company I was working for in my closet.

But if they had to create profiles en masse and the create 10 posts per profile and then wait 2 weeks it might just deter them a bit.
Was going to say seems a lot of effort to go through just to be a prat on a message board.
It's not much of a politics board if all people are not allowed to contribute.
If you have done something so bad you should be banned from SHA full stop.
They have been banned, but they just create a new account and come back.
When someone's first post as a new member is on a board that they apparently didn't know existed until they joined then it is fairly obvious that it's an old poster reborn
The point I think LBN is making is that people shouldn’t just be banned from the politics board for simply having political opinions that go against the current on here.
No one is saying that though nat.
I suspect the Mods are getting a bit tired of a group of specific individuals getting themselves banned, then reapplying under new names over and over but playing the same act.
I'm sure you could appreciate that...
I’m simply explaining what LBN’s point was.
Is this another one of those things you don’t quite understand?
Some people just have empty lives - its a shame, they could use their time so much more productively
Sishi RunakI’m simply explaining what LBN’s point was.
No, you didn't, as others have explained.

Posting the same thing over and over and over in order to be confrontational is exactly the sort of thing the mods are bored of nat. One has to wonder why you haven't grown out of it mate.
