The last 10 or so years…. Poor to average players, middling manager gets best out of them, does ok, sacked, next manager does poorly, not good enough, players not playing for him, lost dressing room, weak mentally, sacked, then repeat.

Until you get a proven manager first, or a decent unknown, ie Ipswich or Coventry manager, give them time to build with their style and chosen players, ever will it be. Bringing in a manager with the aim to change the way we play just exposes the poor and average players we have. And in-season change when doing ok never goes well.

Then this season - factor in exceptional new owners, a bright long-term strategy to improve, fan positivity through the roof yet somehow we’re back to the repeating pattern. How does this cycle end?

Unity

And Unity

Plus a shit ton of cash in the summer.

Following Garry’s orders from the Open House. Well done that man 👍

If you sack him you get another manager ordered to play the same way.

The players can’t do it

Change the players not the manager.

If you would be happy to give an unknown manager time to build his style with his chosen players why isn’t Rooney getting the same support?

He’s young and relatively new to management but fans were giving him abuse on day 1.

Or change both 😉

I think by the summer we’ll have changed both

this has been debated before but CG buys the players and so surely the summer recruits were recruited to play the type of football the board want to play. if they weren't then that is probably a bigger mistake than appointing Rooney
BCFC - Letting me down for 50 years

Pity that CG purchased most of them from the waiting room at the A and E at the Queen Elizabeth

Which also brings to mind the repeating syndrome of player injured but only faking it or making excuses and the ever popular calling out of individual players for not trying

Which completely ignores the elephant in the room of why change the manager until you’ve got those players?
Rooney was never going to get more out of this set of players than Eustace. Never worked with them before, etc.
All logic says they should have hung on to JE through a couple more transfer windows. They’ve effed up.
14:13, Sat 9 Dec
Yeah they’ve royally messed up. Should have stuck with JE and given him the season, just for stability and allow us to build off the field, and then dispense with him in the summer and start the proper rebuild there. I don’t think anyone would have complained about that.
14:14, Sat 9 Dec
* Not accurate figures but you get the point

Monk comes in brings in 5 new players
Karanka comes in brings in 8 new players
Bowyer comes in brings in 11 new players
JE comes in brings in 13-18 new players

How come it’s always the players?
I know we’re buying them from Aldi rather than Harrods which means they’ll have more defects but come on that narrative surely can’t keep being rolled out.

How long we going to be blaming the ghost of Harlee Effin Dean.

Do you genuinely think there is any chance of us replacing the entire squad any time soon?
The cold never bothered me anyway

The manager should be buying the players end of, imagine Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, Clough or Ferguson standing for this shit, they signed the players who they wanted not who fits the profile
