There were a couple of these ‘he felt the contact so he was entitled to go down’ pens the last few days, including the Villa one, though this was the most exaggerated. About time we started booking players for exaggeration. It’s a sure sign when they roll over numerous times. Last thing you feel like doing if you are actually hurt. How is it not ‘simulation’?

If the keeper ankle taps the striker as he goes round him when has it ever not been a penalty?

We have consistently been told this season that "contact" is not enough, it has be "contact with consequence". That is what Webb has spent months reinforcing.

Giving a penalty for that yesterday flew in the face of any of it. The contact has no consequence if a player can take several more steps and then hurl himself to the ground with nobody near him.

The whole process was pathetic.
Same as that viler one for their winner. Joke. They’re tying themselves in knots . Players know if they’re touch and stay down pretending to be injured var is on their side
