What's more annoying about this is, not only has this person confused Brummies with yam yams, but called them yaws yaws??? And why would anybody from Brummieland or yam yam land have a boat?
I've got to say though, living in west Wales for the last couple of years, and not far from Aberystwyth that I have never encountered any hate for being English.

Is it just your personality?

Yeah I thought the same. Someone once left a note of my car that was pretty horrendous. I just guessed correctly who it was and rolled it up and chucked it at her door.

How is the wife these days?

My stepdad used to have a farm near Aberystwyth in the 80's. He also had one of the broadest Brummie accents out there but the locals loved him, despite him being a DvB

Where i lived at one point in the late 60s they had several caravans "over the hill" from Aberystwyth in Clarach bay. There were loads of Brummies there. Spent a few summer holidays at the camp

The climb up the hill from there to Aberystwyth was amazing, one of the best cafés in the world on top of the hill. Went again in the mid 70s and they'd kept all the one arm bandits but hadn't changed them after decimalisation so you would take your "new money" to the counter and they would give you old pennies to play the machines and IF you had any money afterwards change them all back for you.

and there was a camera obscura at the top too .... incredibly fascinating to a young kid who was mad on science

<<< edit >> .. it's still there apparently
