I was at that game. Back in my teens we hitchhiked starting at the Swan Yardley via a few lifts to London and onto Upton Park and then back again including on the back of a lorry. Ended nearly getting arrested for urinating in the garden of a doctor's surgery near the Swan. Your post brings it all back.
