I was on a sixth form field trip in the Peak District and managed to tune in to coverage on my walkman…. We were on some sort of limestone structure at the top of a hill when we scored the first goal…. I instinctively shouted ‘Blues have f***ing scored’ and immediately looked at the teachers who weren’t impressed and pointed out some nearby elderly ramblers, at which point one of the ladies said ‘we’re Brummies; that’s great news’…
I was 8 and on camping trip.. I'd started having season ticket for a year or two with my dad and grandad. me and my mate listened to it on a crank up radio and when we scored the winner we ran round the campsite screaming. I'd say that was the game when I really fell in love with blues along with auto windscreeen final. Just a glory hunter really 😉
Those players were my first team really and so will always be legends.
