oakleyAnother one here for Branston, I used to love Crosse & Blackwell beans but they don't do them anymore, in fact Branstons taste very much like C&B
Wasn't Branston a subsidiary of Crosse & Blackwell?

I've no idea to be honest, if so, maybe that's why they taste similar,
Fat Buddha CBE FEAI bought some co op beans the other day, nearly ended in divorce. For years I’ve bought own brand of whichever supermarket I happened to be in, on the basis they’re all shit so it makes no difference. Not allowed to do that since the co op debacle so currently going with Branston.
It’s easy enough to make your own, tin of cannellini, bit of Tom purée, bit of soy sauce, garlic powder and seasoning, bit of water, maybe a touch of maple syrup. Hardly seems worth even that little bit of bother though. Adults shouldn’t be eating beans.
On a side notes they had some beans on dragons den the other week, I’ve had em a few times and they’re really good.
What Co-op debacle?
Branston for me. Waitrose Essential are decent too.
WiredAndTearyLarge knob of butter
Chopped up spring onion (or red onion)
in saucepan for few minutes till butter melted and onion soft
squeeze of bbq sauce
splash of tabasco
ground black pepper
optional flourish of chilli flakes
400g can of Heinz baked bean
thank me later
But Heinz baked beans are poo...
I tried HP beans and then Branston, Branston tins are packed with beans and sufficient sauce, easily the best ones now.

Cross and Blackwell made Branston products ... "bring out the branston!"
The Cross and Blackwell name has since gone.
*also, to anyone who just heats beans up and doesn't cook them out and reduce the sauce so it looks like a bastard lava pool, get a grip....
Heinz beans your problem there pal. Bring out the Branstons every time
Lidl's baked beans are decent. I only really eat them with a English breakfast.
Something that's not really worth spending the extra money on in my opinion.

Heinz are rubbish.
Have you learnt how to open them properly now?
Branston the best and Aldi not far behind.
I love beans. Heinz are shite now, too watery. Lidls are awful too.

The juice is good for mopping up bread though. And yes, I'm an animal.
I love that we have this absolute landslide for Branston beans every 18 months or so.
