It was just our year, we'd been flirting with it for far too many seasons for it not to eventually happen. We'd stayed up before though a lot of luck, this year it ran out - who'd of thought Blackburn and Plymouth would both have won their very tough games as well?
Forwards, next season will be a good one
Agree with most of the above. The ones trying to put all the blame on to Rowett's 8 games seem very short sighted. I think most would have thought 3 wins and 2 draws from 8 games for 11 points would have been a decent return, given our previous dire form before his arrival.
Although the performances at games like Rotherham were poor you have to balance it with the better than expected ones like Coventry.
Also the upturn in form by Sheff.Wed was really surprising ,most would have had them as doomed half way through the season.
Ah well, that's Blues.See you all there next season.

It may be Rooney's fault that we got relegated
... but it's Rowett's fault we didn't stay up
Ooh, you do talk some shite whilst trying to be deep and meaningful !

If Rowett had been hired 3 weeks before he was we would've survived. His style was dull but he points per game ratio was decent given the circumstances.

I agree but its a combination of things. We've got to let it go. Theres no benefit to seeking blame. It is what it is. Lets look forward. Hopefully with Tony and a proper thought out league one recruitment system.

I for one am looking forward to not having a soft team. We need 11 nasty bastards who can play football.

I think it was written in the stars.

Whatever we did, it was simply our time to go.

And when Venus managed them they didn't.

Paik has been okay, though wildly overrated imo. Thankfully made up for the miss of the season yesterday.

Dozzell and Pritchard have been awful signings.
Tell you what that crack is really moreish.

Pritchard has been injured and struggled in his cameos. Dozzell did fine under Mowbray and Venus but unsurprisingly as a player who passes the ball, isn’t in Rowetts plans as him or Pail had to miss out. Paik needs movement and options, again recent games haven’t suited him. Hardly surprising

The real reason we got relegated is the players weren't good enough. They did not show enough fight and desire unlike Sheff Wed. QPR Millwall Stoke and Plymouth players. The table does not lie after 46 games. Yes there have been other factors. TM's illness. Appointing Shrek etc. But even with 3 games to go it was in our own hands and 2 poor performances v Rotherham and Huddersfield sealed out fate.

Why were they poor performances by the players ?? .... they were set up to contain the opposition and did exactly that

This is getting a bit silly now.

I have never heard them talk about a world class team, their focus seems to be more about building this sports arena and what that will bring to the city, well Mr Wagner and Co build us a decent team on the field first and one that is going to push on with decent additions each season to continue progressing up the leagues, all in all season 23-24 is always going in the history books as a disaster and rightly so.

Wagner and Cook have explained at every opportunity that they cannot buy a team full of stars because P&S prevents them from doing so. All they have ever talked about is building revenue. Build revenue and that gives you P&S headroom to buy the players to climb the ladder.
Between them they must have told this story 20 times in the last year. I don't know what else they can do to get their message across?
The off field stuff like stadiums and fan parks build the revenue to get the decent team we all crave. You cannot do one before the other, unless by some stroke of misfortune you end up in League 1 where you can spend whatever you like.
